Today I am reading Romans 5-6. The first part is called "Faith Brings Joy", you know? Those little title type things they label sections with in your Bible? That's what I mean.
Chapter 5
Key verse, and favorite verse from this chapter is 17.
"For the sin of one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God's wonderful grace and His gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one Man, Jesus Christ."
Adam, the first man on earth drove us all down to the sinful pits of...well...SIN! He and his wife betrayed God's trust. They sinned before there was a law to sin against. Yes, people sinned before there were laws, they just didn't know they were sinning. God gave us laws so we could see how bad off we were into sin...but it just became a common thing to do.
God gaves us grace after that. Grace was something not many found for a while. It was the light in the darkness, the good amongst all the bad. But God then sent His son Jesus to die for us. He died for a bunch of sinners like us. Like it says in verse 7, most people wouldn't even die for a righteous man these days..maybe for a really good guy.... but sinners? Jesus did it. Thank you Lord, you saved us all from Hell.
We just need to belive in you the way you believe in us.
Chapter 6
This section is actually titled "Sin's Power is Broken". Already sounds amazing right? THe first paragragh of this chapter gives me chills. Go read Romans 6:1-4 and tell me it doesn't give you chills. It actually tells you what a baptism is and what it stands for.
There are a few verses I ABSOLUTELY love in this chapter.
Verse 6
"We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. WE ARE NO LONGER SLAVES TO SIN."
Verses 10-11
"(10)When He died, He died once to break the power of sin. But now that He lives, He lives for the glory of God.(11)So you should also consider yourselves to be dead to the power of sin and alive to God through Christ Jesus."
Amen?
And finally verse 22-23
"(22)But now you are free from the power of sin and have become slaves of God. Now you do those things that lead to holiness and result in eternal life. (23)For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord."

Day 14/365 Bible in a Year
Today I read Matthew 3-4. But I am going to read ahead a few days soon.
Chapter 3 was about Jesus being baptized. My main focus is verses 13-17. Jesus went tomeet with John the Baptist. John thought that Jesus should baptize him, but you know what Jesus said? "It should be done [that John baptize Jesus], for we must carry out all that God requires."
Notice that? God REQUIRES this. It's not an option. It's not probably going to happen. It WILL happen. Once you are saved you follow up with a baptism. It's how you profess publicly for the first time your new faith in Christ. I LOVE THIS!
God calls down from Heaven that He is proud of His son, He says, "This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy." Amazing right?
Chapter 4 is a little rougher and a lot less easy (harder). Jesus, after His baptism, is sent into the wilderness. He fasts for 40 days and 40 nights and prays. My favorite verse in this chapter is verse 10. Satan is tempting Jesus with th world. He offers all of the kingdoms to Him if He would bow to Satan himself and worhsip him just once.
Jesus says, "Get out of here, Satan, for the scripture says, 'You must worship the Lord your God and serve Him only.'"
Then Satan leaves and the Lord's angels come down and take care of Jesus.
Then Jesus begins His ministry. He tells people of who He is and who God is and how they should worship according to God. He tells them to repent and turn to God. And he finds a few of His apostles. The first 4 are brothers. (2 are brothers and the othe 2 are brothers hehe not all 4 brothers :D)

They all just up and left what they were doing to be with Jesus.

Day 12/365 Bible in a Year
So remember when we read Job 1-2. Job's whole family died besides his wife. All his livestock and shepherds died..everything was taken from him. In this chapters 3-4 he finally breaks his silence of mourning to say that he wishes he had never been born. He was in such agony he wished he was stricken dead. But his friend, Eliphaz, told him to stop. He bring people up (makes them happy) all the time, he inspires people to be happier in life, he supported people who were falling in life all the time. But when something bad happened to him, he moped, (not mopped). Moped. He moped around, wanting to die, but never dying..
Don't be like this when someone you know dies, guys. Know that they aren't suffering anymore. If they were saved, know that they are going to heaven. Don't mourn forever, God is there to take their place. To fill the whole they occupied. Don't waste anytime in this world. Spend time sharing God.

Day 11/365 Bible in a Year
Today I read Psalms 3-5. I love the Psalms.
Psalm 3 is a psalm that was written by David (most pslams were) about when he had to fun away from his son, Absalom. It speaks of confidence in our Lord.God gave him confidence instead of fear when fleeing his son. He (God) gave David peace enough to sleep in the wilderness and know that when he woke in the morning, he would still be in one piece.
Psalm 4 is another psalm written by David meant to be accompanied by instruments. It is yet, another psalm of the wonderful confidence God gives us in times of trouble. God ALWAYS listens to us when we call on Him. Don't hesitate or simply not pray to God just because you feel distant with Him, or you don't know Him. Prayer is a conversation between you and God. Granted, most of the time we pray, and God doesn't verbally answer us back, sometimes we pray and we FEEl what He wants us to do, sometimes we simply pray and stop and continue with our lives without meaning it. But the few who pray and listen and pray and listen and pray.....and
listen...
are the few who have a relationship with God that they are proud of, that they give God the glory for, that they show others.
Psalm 5 is also written by David, but unlike the others, this psalm is not about the confidence given to us by God, but the defense He gives us (the righteous...well the ones who try to be righteous...) when lies are spoken agfainst us. When someone out there begins to lie about you know that the truth will come out soon.
Pray.
God will answer in time, just give Him time.
Pray.
Lies are revealed sooner than later in most cases and ALWAYS in your lifetime you are proven correct in your actions.
Pray.
A verse that always sticks out to me when I read Psalm 5, and it has been highlighted before and is still highlighted to this day in my Bible is Psalm 5:3.
"Listen to my voice in the morning, Lord. Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly."
Again...pray....and....LISTEN!
Speaking of prayer. I have a prayer requests today.
Please pray for "Spread the News to Nac". This is a ministry that me and some of my friends just started this year. We haven't done any projects yet, and we have only met up once, but pray for this ministry to help spread the Gospel throughout Nacogdoches. This could be the beginning of the ends of the earth. (Read Isaiah 49:6)
Also pray for *Mama C* that her nursing license come in pretty soon because she needs to help her hubby support her family and they also need to fix their cars.
A friend of mines girlfriend was in a wreck recently, pray that she is healed without complication.
Pray for Haiti, and that everyone in the world find compaasion for them.

Day 10/365 Bible in a Year

Take a look yourself. God gave Israel the whole region after He gave the Jericho. After the commander of the Lord's armies came to Joshua, Israel conquered Jericho, the walls literally crumbled when they screamed! Amazing! Enjoy the reading today.

Day 9/365 Bible in a Year
Today I read Genesis 4-7.
Mostly I read around in Psalms, but the assigned section today was Genesis 4-7.
Here's the main squeeze. Cain and Abel were born, Cain killed Abel. Cain got cursed. Abel's blood cried out to God. Adam and ve has Seth, Seth was in Adam's image. Adam has a son who has a son who had a son who had a son who had a son who had a son who has a son who had a son who had a son who had a son names Noah. (10 generations)
Noah was blameless, another blameless person. God was sad because His creation had defiled themselves and He wanted to destroy them. But he found favor in Noah and told him to build an ark. He put his whole family on it and their wives...and two of every animal, and seven pairs of the animals to eat and enough food for the animals and themselves. God flooded the earth and killed all the animals on the earth.
I learned from reading this that God is faithful to those who are faithful to Him, and he will deny you if you deny Him. He just wants a relationship with us. A perfect relationship.

Day 8/365 Bible in a Year
Today I am reading Roman 3-4.
Chapter 3 starts out talking about how God stay faithful and ho we have forgiveness through Christ.The verse I'd enjoy pointing out here is Roamns 3:20. Read it. Read it again. Read it a third time.
"For noone can ever be made right with God by doing what the law commands. The law simply shows us how sunful we are."
Ain't it so true?
But to show how faithful God is to us no matter how unfaithful we are to Him, welcome to Romans 3:3-4
"True, soe of them were unfaithful; but just because they were unfaithful, does that mean God will be unfaithful? Of course not! Even if everyone else is a liar, God is true. As the scripture says about Him, 'You will be proved right in what you say, and you will win your case in court.'"
That last part is in Psalm 51:4.
God is so faithful to us.
Romans 3:21 "But now God has shown us a way to be made right with Him..."
Romans 3:22 "We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ."
Romans 3:23 "For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God's glorious standard."
Have faith in Jesus, that's the way God meant it to be! He sacrificed His only Son, a pure sacrifice, to let us live the way we do. Yet, even now we have places like Somod and Gamorrah... guys! Come on!
Chapter 4 talks about the faith of Abraham.
A verse that appears twice, at least as I know it, maybe more, Romans 4:3,
"For the scripture says, 'Abraham believed God, and God counted him righteous BECAUSE OF HIS FAITH'"!!!!!
Also stated in Genesis 15:6.
Romans 4:16-17 shows what happened to Abraham because of his faithfulness to God.
"For Abraham is the father of all who believe.That is what the Scriptures mean when God told him, 'I have made you the father of many nations.' This happened because Abraham believed in God"
That's in Genesis 17:5.

Day 7/365 Bible in a Year
So today I read Matthew 1-2.
Chapter one goes through all of the decendants of Abraham...14 generations until David....14 generations from David to the Babyloni exile...and 14 generations from the exile to the Messiah (Jesus). Altogether thats 42 generation from Abraham to Jesus Christ. LOOOONNNNGGG family tree, right?
Well it came all the way down to Joseph, Mary's husband... and Mary became pregnant as a virgin. Everyone knows that now-a-days if you end up pregnant, you did something you either weren't supposed to, or you were married and wanting a family. But Mary was a VIRGIN, did you catch that? God gave Mary a child that was His. Mary and Joseph weren't even technically married, they were engaged to be married. Well Josph discovered this little detail about Mary and decde that she cheated on him, and he was going to seperate from her quietly.
I did say quietly. He wasn't going to tell ANYONE what happened. He was a pretty genuine guy, right? He didn't want to embarass her... While he was thinking baout that one night while he was falling asleep the Lord appeared to him in his sleep. He told Joseph to stay with Mary, that that baby was God's son, and Joseph was to name that baby Jesus. Your son will save the world, save all the people from their sins.
Could you imagine? A baby that could change the world... Save people from their sin.. how? What? Huh? Joseph was probabl speechless...wouldn't you be? It kind of reminds me of that movie "Four Christmases" I don't recommend the movie if you are trying to stay away from the secular world..but it is a funny movie, a romantic comedy if you will. There is a scene in there somewhere when the two main characters volunteer to be part of the "Christmas Pageant". The guy says these words, about, "Would it be okay? My wife comes to me to tell me she's pregnant and it's not my baby? It's God's baby... does that make it okay?" That might have been what was going through Joseph's mind.
Joseph went back to Mary, stayed away from sexual relations with her until Jesus was born, and was happy.
Chapter 2 some wise men were on the way to visit Jesus, they stopped by Herod's palace to ask where He was, the "New born King of the Jews". Herod wanted to know immediately where this baby was... He even told the wise men to find Him and come back to tell him here He was at so he could go worship Him too. But the wise men were told by God in a dream not to go back to King Herod.
They walked into the barn thing... ?... they saw Mary and her son, Jesus as a child.. a baby. so vulnerable, so cute and cuddly.... Can you imagine seeing a baby that would be the King..? Wow. They worshipped Him and gave Him gifts. Then the wise men went a different route home to avoid Herod.
Joseph goes to bed and God appear to him again in his sleep. He tells him to wake up and leave with his son and Mary, Herod's coming to kill the baby! So Joseph get's up and take his family where God tells him to...which is....Egypt!
Herod get so angry because the wise men had tricked him that he makes orders to kill every male child in and aroung Bethlehem who was 2 years old or younger based on how the wise men told him the star appeared. All those innocent children dead in at least 2 weeks.. can you imagine the mourning around the country..?
Well, Herod eventually died and God told Jospeh in another dream to take his family and go back because he was dead, so they left but Joseph was afraid because Herod's son was ruling so God told them to go to the region of Galilee. Ending up in Nazareth and fulfilling the prophecy that He would be called a Nazarene.
All things work for the glory of God, am I right? The Bible says that in Romans 8:28 that "we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them."

I read Isaiah 1-6. I love this entire passage, but I only want to focus on one part. Isaiah 5, but not even all of Isaiah 5, I want to draw speacial attention to verses 1 through 7.
This section is called the Song of the Lord's Vineyard
"Now I will sing for the one I love
a song about His vineyard.
My beloved had a vineyard on a rch and fertile hill.
He plowed the land, cleared its stones,
and planted it with the best vines.
In the middle He built a watchtower
and carved a winepress in the nearby rocks.
Then He waited for a harvest of sweet grapes,
but the grapes that grew were bitter.
Now, you people of Jerusalem and Judah,
you judge between me and my vineyard.
What more could I have done for my vineyard
that I have not already done?
When I expected sweet grapes,
why did my vineyard give me bitter grapes?
Now let me tell you
what I will do with my vineyard:
I will tear down its hedges
and let it be destroyed.
I will break down its walls
and let the animals trample it.
I will make it a wild place
where the vines are not pruned and the ground is not hoed,
a place overgrown with briers and thorns.
I will command the clouds
to drop no rain on it.
The nation of Israel is the vineyard of the Lord of Heaven's Armies.
The people of Judah are His pleasant garden.
He expected a crop of justice,
but instead he found oppression.
He expected to find righteousness,
but instead he heard cries of violence."
That was Isaiah 5:1-7.
The first part sets up the story (verses 1-2). Then the second part of verse 2 gets to the main point. He waited for sweet grapes, but he got bitter ones. Grapes make wine!! Remember this for later.
He did EVERYTHING in his power for these grapes to grow sweet, he planted the best vines, placed this vineyard in the best area, and set up a watchtower so noone could harm it...but the grapes still ended up bitter. What else could he do? Apparently something wasn't right. The grapes weren't "learning" how to stay sweet, they were becoming influenced by SOMETHING! So he thinkgs, well, let me chop all these vines down, break down the walls and the watchtower, let it be a wild place, and abandon it, allowing no water to get there, which could be the equivalent of cutting the water supply of irrigation.
After he tells this story, He related it to real life. Isreal, the nation, is the vineyard...Judah His pleasant garden... He gave them everything, protected them, and expected them to be righteous and full of justice...sweet. But instead they betrayed everything God gave them and became changed...violent and full of oppression....bitter..
Now remember I told you to remember that grapes made wine?
Israel was a bitter wine...of bitter grapes...
Flash forward! About 700 YEARS later!
Jesus has already been crucified, but He has not died. He is up there between the two criminals, and He is in so much pain. He watched then lay His hand out, watched the nails go deeper and deeper.. felt the pain and the warm blood burning.. felt the stretch of the other arm, and through blood filled eyes, watched as the nails punctured His other hand...felt but did not see the nail go through His feet....was lifted up... and now He is between two criminals... an innocent man between criminals.
Jesus asks His Father, our Father, "Please forgive them, they don't know what they are doing..." As He is saying this, the soldiers are showing how much they don't care by gambling for Jesus's clothes...He is naked and in pain...They scoff at Him, "Save yourself, you have saved others!" The mocked Him...by...
...get this...
...offering Him something to drink in a sponge... this something?
BITTER WINE!
Is this a symbol that once AGAIN the nation of Israel has betrayed the One and Only again? They have everything, Jesus gave them health, teachings, and promises....EVERYTHING! And they give Him nothing but bitter wine.
Guys, don't take everything for granted. Thank God for it. Thank God for EVERYTHING! DDon't forget Him, please don't forget Him!

Day 5/365 Bible in a Year
Job 1-2 was my reading today. Job is a book that address the question that everyone wants to ask but never does.
"Why does God allow the righteous to suffer?"
So there's this guy named Job. He's the richest man in all land where he lives. He has "7 sons, 3 daughters, 7000 sheep, 3000 camels, 500 teams of oxen, and 500 female donkeys". And to top it all off, the Bible says in verse 1 that "he was blameless-a man of complete integrity" Really? Take a second to think of someone you know who is blameless........NOONE!!! The Bible also says in the new testament after Jesus came and died for us that "there is none good, no not one!" Romans 3:10.
Until Jesus came to save us, all people could try as the might to be sinless, but only very few succeeded. And Job was one of those few, and as far as I've read he is the only, but I have only haphazardously read, picked through and I am only on day 5 of 365 on reading my entire Bible at a slow and understanding pace.
Well Job's sons would always take turns having people over to have meals in their homes, sometimes they'd invite their sisters. EVERY morning after these gatherings Job would go to the temple and make burnt offerings for EACH of his children, purifying them in the eyes of God. He really cared for his children, loved them so much.
Well, we've seen so far that Job has a pretty much perfect life. He has 7 sons and 3 daughters, he loves them, theylisten to him, and respect flows on both ends of these relationsips. He has the world at his fingertips and he follows God with his whole heart.
One day up in Heaven they are having a meeting, and all of the heavenly court comes to the Lord with Satan with them. God asks Satan, "Where have you come from?" Of course He knew Satan was from Hell, but He meant where have you been.. but God knows everything about EVERYBODY! He was really just wanting to show off His followers. You see, Satan told God he was patrolling the earth to watch everything. God asks Satan if he's seen His servant, Job.
Satan just said he was watching EVERYTHING that was going on. Satan of all evil entities is going to notice a servant of God. So he asks God to remove His protective shield from Job. He does, but only to test Job. God knew Job would succeed in the test of Satan.
This next part actually made me cry when I read it.. so be prepared...
Now we are back on earth, Job is sitting at home, probably praying or thinking and his sons and daughters were all feasting again. Out of nowhere comes a messenger to Job to tell him that people came to raide them and they stole all the oxen and donkeys from the field and that he was the only one to flee, while the first messenger is still speaking ANOTHER one comes up and just interupts to tell Job that the fires of Heaven came down on his sheepo and all the shepherds he was the only one left.
Like that'snot enough to lose in one day, ANOTHER messenger comes up halfway through the previous messenger's speech to tell Job that another group of people raided the camels and killed the servants, they were all dead except for, of course, him.
Job, so far has lost all his sheep, oxen, camels, servants, and only has 3 people who survived all that...and his sons and daughters, but wait. There's more.
The last thing that happened was that his sons and daughters were all celebrating and feasting, and a great wind came and knocked ALL of the walls down on them, killing them. All... this servant was the only to survive to tell...
Job tore his clothes, shaved his head, and despite all that had happened he didn't curse God. He remained blameless. He went from owning 7000 sheep, 3000 camels, 500 teams of oxen, 500 female donkeys, 7 sons, and 3 daughters to...4 messengers and his wife...
I know I spent a lot of space on chapter 1, but is it not inspiring to see that Job kept worshipping God?
Chapter 2 is short and sorta sweet. So basically in chapter one Satan could harm ANYTHING/ANYONE who Job knew of owned but he couldn't lay one hand on Job himself. Well, in chapter 2 Satan goes to the heavenly courts again and asks God if he can test Job one more time. He takes his health, but God tells him to do as he wishes, just don't kill Job.
Satan gives him boils from head to toe. Already suffering for the loss of his children he is swollen with soars. He's scraping himself with clay when his wife comes to him and tells him to curse God and get it over with. Do you know what Job says?
"Should we accept only good things from God and none bad?"
Did he curse God? No. Did he get angry? No.
God gives Job 3 friends in this trial to share his suffering with. They sit with him andsay nothing because they understand him. They stay and sit for 7 days and nights with Job.
God always provides for us, even in intense suffering he gives us friends with common experiences. Thank you God for that, thank you for this life and the trials you give us thrugh Satan. Amen.

Day 4/365 Bible in a Year
So I really like Psalm 1-2 (that's what I read today).
Psalm 1 shows the difference between the faithful person and the wicked person. This was a great Psalm to read on my first day of college. After I read it I felt very fresh on who I was in Christ and I was sooooo glad that I copuld show that even with just my actions. The comparison along with me getting into my psychological thinking after reading my book helped me point out the people I walked by. You can tell the difference so much when you really pay attention to people. Some people are naturally nice and some are naturally rude. Some would open doors, some would pray before they ate...some would laugh at people because of their differences... :(
Psalm 2 was also equally amazing!! So basically all the nations were angry at God and all the kings were getting together ploitting against the One who gave them life. Well, God rebuked them and showed them what he could do to them while they were attempting to have warfare against God. God had already placed someone to be the king of the land. He gave this leader great victory in the future for the entire earth. He would rule. This I guess is God's way of telling the nations that Christ was coming. He told them all to submit to the royal son of God. All too many times in this world today, when things go wrong people automaticaclly blame God. WHAT????????!!!
Why would you blame God for something you got yourselves into in the first place by abandoning Him?!
Remember to always praise God in everything you do. When things go wrong don't BLAME HIM!! Why blame Him when He is there to help us and give us doorways OUT of problems? Turn to Him, pray to Him. Even when things go RIGHT do it! I prayed all the way home today from Lufkin thanking God for supplying me with the money to start my college education, thanks for family and friends and my fiance for supporting me, thanks for the familiar faces today, thanks for the food, thanks thanks thanks!!! I was enjoying it!!

Day 3/365 Bible in a Year
Toady's reading was Joshua 1-5. This book truely shows that God is 100% behind His followers 100% of the time.
In chapter 1 I was a little sad to see that Moses had died. But the good things was that even though he died, God gave Joshua the same promises He had given Moses. He would then lead the Israelites to the Promised Land. He told Joshua to tell his peiople to pack up their belongings because in 3 days they would sbegin a long tripto Jericho. Everyone, of course is behind this command because it was given to Joshua from God. They respected Joshua.
Chapter 2 sent me on a crazy path of research. Joshua send 2 spies to Jericho to scope out the city and tell him what's up with all the people. Well, when they actually get to Jericho...they stay in a prostitutes house. Her name was Rahab.
When I said I went on a crazy path of research, this is what I was looking for:
Why on earth would they stay with a prostitute?!
The answer, I came to find was that they stayed there because automatically, it is a place men could go with no questions asked from people around them. Noone was nosey when they sasw a man walk into a prostitutes home, they "knew" what was going on. They really only THOUGHT they KNEW what was going on. There they could map out the city, stay the night when needed, and have a shelter. Also Rahab's home was in the wall of the city. So if need be for them to escape quickly or unseen, they could easily do so. Thirdly, Rahab was a servant of the Lord, though a prostitute, she had tiny faith, but God used her.
With that problem solved, I could move on.
The thing was they only had a limited time to scope the city out because someone with a big mouth openned it to the king of Jericho. He sent a notice to Rahab. He asked her to bring out the 2 men who were there as spies for the Israelites. She lied.
She told him they left not long ago down the road. She knew not where they had come from. But in all reality, she knew exactly who they were and she hid them on her roof under flax.
After the men left she let them down from the window by a scarlet rope and they promised her that if she left the rope there and kept her promises to protect them they would not kill her family when they came. They stayed in the hill counjtry for 3 days before returning to Joshua with the news. They told him everything.
Chapter 3 was more of the miracle God can do for His people. The people left to go to the river in the morning after the spies came back. They camped out on this side of the Jordan River and stayed there for 3 days. God told Joshua the priests would lead them to Jericho followed by Joshua, then the 40,000 strong army, then the people of Israel. The people needed to stay a half mile behind the Priest with the Ark of the Covenant of the Lord our God.
The priests walked to the bank and God told Joshua to tell them to take a few step into the river and stop.
So they did, and God dried up the river for the Israelites to cross it. Joshua picked one leader from every tribe of Israel (12 tribes) and they picked up large stones from the bottom of the dry river. Then Joshua made a pile of stones in the river and the priests moved to the other side after everyone passed.
When the Israelites got to Gilgal they made a memorial for the river being dried up with the twelve large stones.
There the Israelite re-established the covenant with God, because all their warriors had died in the wilderness of that 40 year travel. The Lord told Joshua to circumcize all the men of Israel, so he did and they all stayed in Gilgal until they were healed. They celebrated Passover and ate of the crops. Joshua went near the town of Jericho and saw a man standing in front of him. He asked if he was friend or foe, and the man said niether. He was the commander of the Lord's army. Joshua fell on his face and told the commander he was at his command. What was it he needed to do? All he told him was to take his shos off, ge was on holy ground.
The commander of the Lord's army talking to me would have definitely freaked me out. But Joshua just feel at his feet and listened to what he had to say. He knew t was rally the commander of the Lord's army. Amazing!

Day 2/365 Bible in a Year
Today I had to read Genesis 1-3. This is what I re-learned from today's passage. I know it's wordy, but I'll try for it not to be.
Chapter 1:
Day 1 for God. He created the heavens and the earth. The earth had not certain shape and there was nothing in it, on it, or around, but God. He also made light. Then he called the light day and the darkness night.
Day 2 for God. He created a seperation between the waters of heave and the waters of earth and called it the sky.
Day 3 for God. He created land by pushing the waters of the earth all to one place. He called the waters seas. Then He created vegetatoin on the earth.
Day 4 for God. Hecreated lights in the sky to govern the day from night, the seasons, and to give us light. The sun for day, the moon and stars for night. The stars as most of you know help us with determining the seasons.
Day 5 for God. He created life for the sky and the sea. (Fish and birds).
Day 6 for God. He created all the beasts of the earth, livestock, wild animals, and critters alike. He also created mankind. Male and female. "Let US make man in OUR image, in OUR likeness". Notice the plural? He was already God, the Son, and the Holy Spirit before He even sent His Son to die for us. He was just chillin' up there with His Son until we messed it all up for Him.
Day 7 for God. He saw what He made, and He saw that it was good, so He took a load off and rested on this seventh day.
I know that y'all probably already knew all this, but it is AMAZING to think that ONE GOD created everything!!!! Just astounding!
Chapter 2:
Adam and Eve
So, you think you know the story of the rise/beginning of mankind? Did you have it in mind anything like this?
God made Adam out of dust. Who else can do something that awesome? NOONE!!! Not even Houdini! But God did, and He put Adam in a garden in the east called Eden. There were many trees in Eden and among those trees was the tree of life and of the knowledge of good and of evil.
In Eden, the river that watered the trees split into four branches. The Pishon, the Gihon, the Tigris, and the Euphrates. Anyone who doubts that the Bible is real, re-read the names of the last 2 rivers mentioned. The what? And the what now? The Tigris and the Euphrates! Yeah baby! Read it again!
God put Adam there to work the garden, and told him not to eat from the tree of life and of the knowledge of good and of evil.
God brought all the beasts of the earth and the sky and the sea to Adam so he could name them all. God knew he needed a helper, but of the beasts, no suitable helper was found so, you guessed it! God created Eve, a woman from Adam's rib bone. OUCH!
They became one flesh and apparently they werre married :D
Chapter 3:
The Fall of Man...
So you though things were going pretty well huh? Well they were. Adam and Eve walked with God daily, they talked to God, discussed things with God, maybe even SAW God. Can you imagine physically SEEING God???!!! I don't know about you, but I would be physically peeing my pants!!! You?!
The serpent...oh the serpent...the evil little serpent...!!
Eve was chillin out, maxin, relaxin, all cool, eat some peaches out by the pool when a sly serpent comes crawling by...and says, well, "Did God really tell you not to eat the fruit from that tree?" and Eve, of course tells the snake the truth. She tells him that God said if they ate it they would surely die.
Now, the serpent is a tricky character.
He tells Eve she will not "surely die" so of course she believes, because noone has really lied to her before. God doesn't lie. But the serpent did.
She takes the fruit to Adam after she eats from it and feeds it to him. Then BAM, they realize they are naked. So the make clothes for themselves.
Well God comes around and they hide because they are naked. They literally heard God coming and hid. God asks who told them they were naked..Really? The God of the universe is going to ask a question like that? He already knew the answer!! So he punished the serpent and the humans against eachother and said that the humans would always want to smash the serpents head and the serpent would always want to bite the humans' heals.
To the woman He increases birthing pain, and gave her the desire for her husband, and the hisband he gave rule over his wife.
God banished them from Eden and made them always work to make their food, they would surely die, and not live eternally.
Well? Ain't that something?? I hate to say I'm glad Jesus died, but He did. For us. I am so greatful for that, so now I can live eternally with Christ. Amen.

Great News!!
God led me to speak to someone last night about my faith. Actually it was a few someones, but only one actually pulled me aside to talk to it more. He wanted to be saved. So I told him the story of Jesus and his miracles and his teaching and how He died for us. Then I asked him some questions and prayed with him. He accepted Christ right there. It was so amazing. I am so happy God used me like that. Ahhhh!!!! So excited, I want to do this more!

Samuel 2
Chapter 2 of first Samuel mainly begins with a prayer from Hannah thanking God for Samuel after she tells Eli (the priest) that this is the son she prayed for that night in the temple when he had thought she was drunk.
The Prayer
1 Samuel 2:1-10
Hannah had just told Eli about Samuel in the previous chapter. This was the one who she had prayed for the longest time for. A son of her own. She promised to give him to the Lord if He would give her the son she desired. She says that her heart "rejoices in the Lord!" and that the Lord has "made [her] strong!". She praises Him for rescuing her from her deep pool of depression. "There is no Rock like You, God."
Pause: "Rock" God is called a Rock here and in other passages because, well think about it, you sink or drink water (He is the Water of life, though.), sand can move under your feet and be shakey, but a rock. Think of standing on a concrete platform. It's safe, secure. So is God.
Play: The next part of her prayer was almost like accusations. "Stop acting so proud and haughty!" In this part of the passage I see a few examples that parallel her life. For instance, "For the Lord is a God who knows every action you have made, He will judge your actions." Peninnah always made her cry by gloating on her children. God saw that. He sees everything. And I mean everything. "The childless now have seven children and the one with children withers away." Again her and Peninnah. She was childless and now has a son. The Lord has "set the world in order".
After this prayer Elkanah left Samuel there (Ramah) with Eli and he and Hannah went back home.

Day 1/365 Bible in a Year
I started reading my Bible in a year today. I am reading Romans 1-2. Romans 1:1-17 was an awakening for me. I told y'all I had fallen in my walk with God recently. This passage made me cry. I rededicated my life tonight. It's such sn emotional thing.. :( I can't believe I let myself fall this far.. I am ashamed, but God doesn't even know what I'm talking about, because He has forgiven me before I asked.. I asked for forgiveness and He says, for what my child? Amazing!
Romans1:1-5 woke me up when I read the words, "and He was shown to be the Son of God when He was raised from the dead by the power of th Holy Spirit." The entire passage is more dramatic if you read all of it and then get to this part..rather than reading an excerpt. But you get the picture, right?
Romans 1:8-12 made me cry and rededicate because of these words, "because your faith is being talked about all over the world." Can you imagine this? A faith in God, a faith in Christ, a connection to the Holy Spirit that is so noitceable, so exciting, so extravagant that the entire world is talking about it? I want this faith. I have this faith, I just don't share it like I should. I am changing that quickly!
The rest talks about God's anger toward sin. Wickedness grew in the world. I wish I could go into the world and share the Good News, but I don't have all that money. I will share it in my town.
Romans 2 starts out telling us not to judge eachother before examining ourselves. God's "day of anger" is coming soon. He will judge us ultimately by His law. He will punish us who disobey and raise us who do. He knows EVERYONE'S secrets.
And He speaks to us Christians, too. He tells us not to hold ourselves upon a pedistal just because we are Christians. We cannot tell others what not to do if we are hypocrites by doing so. We need to fix ourselves first, then teach others the Way. Yes, sometimes we are going to fall, yes, sometimes we are going to seem like hypocrites, yes, that is Satan messing up our lives. Just don't let him interfere. Push him away! Flee from him, flee from sin!
Lastly in Romans 2 God tells up through Paul that just because you are born of Christian parents or decent does not mean that you are automatically a Christian. A true Christian is one whose heart is right with God. A true circmcision is having a true change of heart because of God's Spirit.
Ain't God good?
Yes He is!

The Bible In A Year!!
Today I began to read my Bible in a year. I know it's a little late, but a year is a year is a year...is a year. I'll just finish on January 17, 2011. Haha! It's never to late to dive into God's word. I know my blog is suffering, but I have fallen a bit on my walk with God.

Random Thought Today
I was here listening to music with my friend, Alli, and I had this feeling that I was being watched. My random thought was, " Why do I only get this feeling sometimes? Why not all the time? God is ALWAYS watching me...and everyone else...so why do we only feel this way sometimes...?"
